Grounds for Growth

In January 2024, The Center for Autism Education acquired a new building for our Adult Day Program, now conveniently located on the same campus as our Instructional Day Facility. This expansion allows us to better serve our growing community with individualized support.

As we move into 2025, we’re excited to launch Grounds for Growth, a transformative campaign to reimagine the outdoor space at our adult day center campus. Our goal is to create a fully accessible recreational area that meets the diverse needs of our consumers, regardless of age or ability. This space will promote social interaction, physical activity, and sensory exploration, enriching their daily experiences.

The redesigned outdoor area will be a vital resource, helping consumers build motor skills, form meaningful connections, and enjoy the benefits of movement. With features that encourage engagement and independence, it will foster a true sense of belonging. Grounds for Growth is a crucial step in our mission to ensure every individual has access to the tools they need to thrive, enhancing their well-being and quality of life.

CAE's Adult Day Program

Since 2010, our Adult Day Program has filled a critical gap for adults with severe behavioral challenges. Many had limited options after graduation, but CAE provided the personalized support they needed. This commitment to individualized care drives our efforts to expand and improve our services.

Now, Grounds for Growth offers a key opportunity to enhance our program—an inclusive outdoor space that makes physical activity part of daily life. Research shows that outdoor play supports sensory regulation, motor skills, and social engagement for individuals with autism. By transforming this space, we will promote well-being, independence, and a stronger sense of community.
