Miles Towards Independence

Miles Towards Independence

More Miles Means More Possibilities

At The Center for Autism Education (CAE), independence isn’t just a goal — it’s part of every journey we take together. That’s why our Miles Toward Independence campaign is raising funds to purchase two new multi-passenger vans. These vehicles will allow our students and adult consumers to travel safely, comfortably, and confidently throughout the community.

Why It Matters

For our K–12 School Program, these vans open the door to more community-based learning opportunities. Students can enjoy field trips, volunteer projects, grocery store visits, and life-skills outings that build confidence step by step. With dependable transportation, they can practice real-world skills and connect more deeply with the world around them.

For our Adult Day Program, new vans create greater access to volunteer sites, job training, and social experiences that encourage independence and belonging. Reliable transportation makes every outing an opportunity for growth, connection, and inclusion.

Together, we can keep moving forward — one mile at a time.

Every Mile Tells a Story — And It’s Time for a New Chapter

Our current vans have served us well, but after years of constant use, they’re showing their age. From worn interiors to outdated branding and countless miles, it’s clear they’ve gone the distance.

However, as our programs continue to grow, so must our ability to move forward. That’s why the Miles Toward Independence campaign is so important — it’s not just about new vehicles, but about handing our individuals the keys to their future and helping them drive toward greater independence, confidence, and opportunity.
